Hydrodynamic Ram Test Bed – a rectangular water tank fabricated from ballistic steel and capable of holding 1,000 gallons of water is contained within a confinement chamber.
- The chamber is of sufficient size to allow all necessary test equipment to positioned safely away from the HRAM impact spurt.
- Chamber walls are re-enforced and contain 30” of dry sand.
- Currently the projectile launcher can deliver a 5.56 mm projectile.
- Enhancements to deliver a 7.62 mm round is being designed and expected to be available by next year.
